There are 2 airports in the Galapagos Islands on San Cristobal Island and Baltra (Santa Cruz):
– San Cristobal Island has an airport which provides greater facilities to travelers 2 minutes from the city. To get to this island you must take a flight from the city of Quito or Guayaquil with a flight time of 1 hour and 45 minutes.
– The easiest way to get to Santa Cruz is by daily flights from the cities of Quito and Guayaquil; the flight time from Quito to Guayaquil is 30 minutes and approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes from Guayaquil to the Galapagos Islands. When arriving to this island you should take into account that its airport is located on the island of Baltra, so you will have to take some means of transportation to get to the island of Santa Cruz.

How to purchase
How do I get the Transit Control Card in advance if I am traveling as a tourist?
The Galapagos Council of Government uses the Transit Control Card (TCT) to monitor the length of stay of visitors on the islands. The TCT is obligatory for all travelers and has an additional
an additional fee that must be paid before your trip to the islands.

What means of transportation
is used to move from one island to another in Galapagos?
To travel between the four main populated islands (Santa Cruz, San Cristobal, Floreana and Isabela) you have two options:
Passenger transport boats:
Speedboats of up to 38 passengers, depart every day from the main dock of each populated port. The trip lasts approximately 2 to 3 hours, depending on sea conditions. In the first half of the year, from January to June, the sea conditions are more stable than in the second half of the year, from July to December, when the swell is stronger.

What are the requirements
to travel to Galapagos?
The requirements that tourists, whether nationals or foreigners, must present at the airport in order to enter the province of Galapagos:
Personal identification: identity card or passport (valid).
Air ticket, personal and non-transferable, round trip between the mainland and the province of Galapagos.
Not to exceed 60 days corresponding to the category.
Cancel the payment of the fee (TCT) $20.00.
